Marina Bay Sands

At the courtesy of my aunt's friend, we have gotten a stay in Marina Bay Sands!!

View from the hotel room.
Actually, we have stayed in MBS last year too. It was a suite with a separate bedroom, balcony links frm the bedroom to the living area. And there was also my favourite nespresso machine.
Sadly to say there is no pictures of the room previously and this time -_-.
But there are tonnes of them taken in the infinity pool!
I can literally stay in the pool the whole day if I don’t have concerns of getting tanned. The view is just too great. And thanks to the pool, I managed to learn how to use my new camera in night shot mode
Picture time:

This view just takes my breathe away

The nicest pic taken at night
This post is long overdue coz we stayed there during end of July... OMG!

July's Bellabox

July's Bellabox

I was waiting patiently and at the same time, excitedly for my box and it finally came. Congrats to the gals who won the Tiffany necklaces.

The reason for delaying this post is that I've received my Jimmy Choo's perfume bottle without the perfume?!?!

My colleague did not believe what she saw and she even managed to open the rubber stuff at the opening to triple make sure that it is emply.. LOL! Lucky for me, bellabox was readily is replying and offered to re-sent me the perfume at no extra cost.

The only thing I've started to use is the twist bands.. Although it clainms that it will not cause any marks on the hair, but for me, there are still marks after I have un-tied it.

Have anyone started to use the twistbands yet? Did it leave any marks on your hair? Pls shared.. =DD

Haul from Korea

Happy mid-week! How's everyone coping?

HB went for business trip in Korea last month and how could I not ask him to buy me some Korea skincare and cosmetics!

This are what I ask him to bring back (I only asked him to get some leaders solution mask, etude house eye primer & CLIO gelpresso)
But he came back with more!

Ta Daa~

Samples~

Been hearing good reviews about this and some even say this is almost comparable to Urban Decay's. Sad to say this is no longer available, the only way to get it is from Qoo10 (previously known as Gmarket) I just saw this in Etude house recently. Probably they brought it back after many complaints? lol!

Etude House Eye Primer

My UD 24/7 pencil eyeliner in black did smudge after a few hours, but this is sufficient. Without this, the same eyeliner will smudge within an hour. I'm waiting to try this on my other eyeliner.
Warning: As I'm only using BB Cream as foundation, it appeared a lil' pale on my lids as if I'm using a pale eyeshadow when I'm staring at myself in the mirror. From far it looked ok to me.

Many claimed that this eyeliner will not smudge. I wonder how true is this.

CLIO gelpresso

BB cream that
he bought for (I did not ask him to). Actually I did but did not specified which brand so he got me this.

Faceshop Faceit BB Cream

This is great! the staying power is comparable to Etude house's precious mineral BB Cream, but slightly lesser coverage. I'm still trying this out to see if it will cause some blemishes (not pimples) like the etude house's.

Assorted masks from missha

I have not tried out the masks yet, hope the leaders solution ones really delivers.

I've been lazy lately to use those mask + those I've had in my cupboard.

I think these are the norms that everyone will get when in Korea. Is there other items anyone out there will buy in Korea? Leave me a msg will ya!

Friday Photo Meme - GSS

It’s Friday again!

This time its all about things I've bought during the GSS season. not all of them are having promotions when I bought them, so keep a lookout for more promotions in the stores =)

1.  uCozy
This is relatively new as I just got it in June. It is part of the bundle deal with uRelax that I got from OSIM during GSS. It cost S$138 separately (S$188 for the uRelax), but the bundle cost only S$288. The most exciting part? HB paid for it. Ha!

2. Heels from Pedro

Can you believe that it cost only S$39.90? part of the GSS sales item. UP S$89

3. uRelax
Actually this belongs to HB, which is now 'stationed' in the living room. Everyone treat it as a normal seat cushion now, occassionally, kids will play with the vibrating mode at the seat (read: area where the butt sits on). Now, it just sits at the dinning chair in the living room collecting dust! haha.

4. Sunplay UV Body Mist Sunblock SPF80 PA++

Sorry, the Mayasia site is the closest place I can find. I decided to get this baby (S$17.90 from Watsons, non promotional price) after seeing reviews from Alexis. Different product, but for the same purpose.

I have not tried this out yet, hope I will(can) use this religiously as I'm so lazy to apply anything on my skin (other than face) after my bath, especially prior to going out, unless I'm exercising.
I've managed to try this for once (at last!) it asorbed pretty quickly and the 'oily-ness'' (omg is there such word?) does not stay for long. I have to keep re-applying before i actually step out for the activity cause I thought I did not apply to those areas when I actually did!

The only down point is as it is a spray, some of it will tend to get onto the floor and if you remember, it is oily. Lucky for me I spray it in the bathroom. i did not try rinsing it away but I think I should not be a hassel rinsing it off.

5. Office wear

I want to know what items you guys out there bought during GSS too. Feel free to comment n leave me your link ya =DD

Friday Photo Meme - Shopping Malls that I Frequent to

Hi Guys, its time for photo meme again.

This time, I'm gonna talk about shopping malls and the restaurant that I've eaten at. Ranging from the least frequent to the most frequent malls

(Photos for the malls are from google images, yahoo news and their official web pages respectively)

1. ION

It's like a mini Orchard road situated in Orchard road itself. You can find all the high end fashion brands in this mall.

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Paradise Dynasty
- Meatworks: Serves good beef the first time I'm there, drop of standard during my second visit =(
- Balaclava: There's a live band here. Not sure about their schedule thou.

2. Vivocity
Ranked the top mall to lounge in SG and L3 has this water feature that spans four Olympic-size swimming pools for the kids to wade in (quoted from yahoo.com.sg)

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Kim Gary: Serves HK teahouse style food
- Brotzeit: Famous for their german beer and pork knuckles (though their standards have dropped). Must try their onion soup. Just too delicious to try unless you don't like onions and cheese.
and Sentosa is just a stone's throw away
- Fig & Olive Cafe (Western food): Do not attempt to try it. Food are so-so, unless you wanna pay restaurant price for hawker food
- Marche: Looks like normal food court but serves european food, each person receives a card which acts like your order registration list. Upon ordering, the staff from respective stations will scan per your order. Pay upon leaving the restaurant. Penalty for loss of card around S$100-200 (not very sure about this)
- Swenson's: This is available in almost all malls in SG.
- The Queen & Mangosteen: Similarly to Brotzeit, but it's a British gourmet pub.

3. Marina Square
I've visit this mall when I was very young, and I only remember this in recent years. There used to be supermarkets here, but closed probably due to low customer traffic.

Apparently shops at level 3 are all/mostly closed due to the lack of customers too.

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Xin Wang
- Kenny Rogers
- Mr Curry (Center Stage)
- Killiney Cafe: Good kopitiam style coffee, best meesiam I've tried
- MOF: Japanese food.
- The Cafe Cartel

(PS: I've work there for almost 2 years!)

4. Jurong Point
Same as Marina Square, been here since I was very young. I've seen it from just a tiny mall with cinema, until now, it has become a huge mall with 2 wings and a condo above it.

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Billy Bombers
- Crystal Jade
- Pu Tien
- Swenson's
- New York New York
- Dian Xiao Er
- Soup Restaurant: Must try their Samshui Chicken.

5. IMM

I've been here ever since I can remember. From a humble mall that only sells furniture, to now, with plenty of restaurants and hypermarket, and my favourite Daiso (Largest outlet in SG).

Free carpark for 1st 3 hours too!

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Swenson's
- Crystal Jade
- Ajisen
- Balithai
- The Cafe Cartel
- Pepper Lunch

5. West Mall (Tie with IMM)

This is like a 5 min walk from my home and I visit this mall so frequently during my schooling days.

Restaurant I've tried here:
- Swenson's
- Mayim Chinese Cuisine
- Sakae Sushi

Hope these helps if you guys are wondering where to eat at the next time =)

Food Intolerance - 1 month after

It has been exactly a month since my last visit to the Healing Resonance. (this post), which I was told to avoid wheat and milk products as I have an intolerance to them. Well, I haven’t been listening to the nutritionist totally. It was so difficult to completely avoid them unless I cook my own meals EVERYDAY! (although I do bring bentos for lunch, I just hate the washing part.)
Some bentos that I've made in June:

I took the medications religiously, although I didn’t completely avoid wheat products (can’t bring myself to avoid cakes and pastries, I avoid noodles and pasta thou). Been living like a southern Chinese (their staple is mainly rice and rice products, northern Chinese’s staple is noodles, dumplings, and other wheat products).

The result, I experience less bloat-ness in my stomach, which means, no unnecessary burping after meals! =))

I’m trying to incorporate some wheat products back to my diet. According to the nutritionist, the best way to fight intolerance is to eat a variety of food, do not just consume a certain type! I still avoid eating wheat (noodles, pastas, bread, etc) as a meal, but only part of a meal. For example, instead of eating just pasta, I’ll trade ½ of it with whoever wants to share with me and is having non-wheat (eg: rice).

It is still quite troublesome, but at least I can get to eat 2 types of food for my meal =DD

Bellabox will be delivered today! Can’t wait for mine to arrive.

**Update**
I have not received my box yet =(

Friday Photo Meme - Daily Skincare Edition

Hi everyone! Its Friday again..  It’s time for Photo Meme! Although I know not much people know of the existent of my blog, but I still do hope you guys join in the fun too =))
 1.       Toner
I’m currently using Tea Tree Toner by Lush, and alternating with DHC’s Acerola Lotion at times.
I actually prefer Lush than DHC because:

-          It’s quicker to applyà Just spray all over face
-          Cheaperà Lush:  S$24 for 250g & DHC: S$30+ for 100ml (Sorry can’t remember the price cause I always get friends to buy for me when they go o Taiwan or Japan and since I alternate it with Lush, I don’t use up as quickly)

2. Serums
Clarins serum was introduced by my friend around 2 years ago, I wasn’t using any serum back then.
No one commented whether my face grew slimmer, probably I was lazy to follow all the steps of the facial massage  (included in the packaging)

Lancome Genifique
Sample size from June’s Bella Box. Can’t see obvious effect on me too

Sample size from June’s Bella Box. I don’t have to apply moisturizer at night if I use 5-6 drops of this baby. If I were to skimp on it n use 3-4 drops, I’ll have to use it with moisturizer. I’ve tried not using moisturizer with 3-4 drops, and the area along my nose started to peel =(

3. Eye Cream

Ginvera Jade Dark Circles Roll away  à Around S$18, but I got it for prob like S$10-12 in a sale
Skin Doctors Eyecircles  à S$69, but I got it for JUST S$6 during warehouse sale

I don’t see any prominent effects on my eyecircles, probably due to the vein that sits right at the bottom of the circles making it look obvious. But anyways, at least they don’t give me milia seeds like other products do.

4. Moisturiser
Obviously Laneige will be used in the evening only. (That’s  why it is also called the sleeping mask!). word of caution: I’ve tried using it nightly as I was lazy to use other sheet mask, and I experience reverse effects à Area around my nose started to peel too  -_-‘’’

Don’t ask me how much. No idea either as I always get friends to get it when they are in Korea. Really afraid to fork out that price in SG when no one goes to Korea in the future =|

Skin Doctors Super Moist
Got it from warehouse sale together with Skin Doctors Eyecircles @ S$5 (UP S$79). So far so good, can’t stock up because they are near expiry items =((. They looked super heavy but they are actually not. Good for the neck too

Clarins HydraQuench Cooling Cream-Gel
A free gift together with Clarins V-Shaping serum (From Clarins counter in JB, they are having promotion until this Sunday!)

Not a fan of it especially when the colour of the cream is slightly like custard, but more to brownish shade

5. Sun block
I suddenly can’t remember what is the first sunblock I’ve used, but I’ve used this Clarins UV Plus HP (SPF 40 PA+++ 30ml) sunscreen since I first started with the V-shaping serum  as it is part of the free gift that comes together. Have used it for almost 2 years, and it is still going strong. Will consider to buy when I have completely used up. But it is a little expensive… What should I do??

ZA True White (SPF 30 PA+++, 30ml)
This is initially a replacement for Clarins UV Plus HP but I soon realized the difference. It has those slight shimmering effects and it makes me face whiter than usual when I put on makeup. Of course, the ‘white’ effect fades out throughout the day. But now I only use it during weekends when I don’t put on makeup. Retails at S$20+

Sun Toner from Etude house (SPF 30 PA++80ml)
Not available anymore in Singapore and JB ( I bought mine from JB and that’s the last time I seen it). Super affordable, just look at the size, I think it is less than S$20 after conversion, and it is for face and body! Yes I am lazy to apply to my body everyday, but I do use it when I’m out for swimming or cycling. It just makes packing a lot better (1 less thing to bring out)

Wanna take part?

Recap of my list
1.       Toner
2.       Serum
3.       Eye cream
4.       Moisturizer
5.       Sun block

Or you can try those from the previous theme:
Leave a comment with a link to your post if you do take part! I'd like to know if there are anyone out there sharing similar things as me =))
